Camp for The Blind

The Lions Clubs of Georgia have a camp located near Waycross, Georgia that is set up for handicapped and sight impaired individuals to be able to be carefree for a week and be able to enjoy the outdoors much the same as sighted individuals do.  It takes a lot of work to keep this facility up year round and open for campers several weeks out of the year.  Lions Clubs from across the state pitch in with donations and fundraisers to keep the camp open each year. It is the mission of the Georgia Lions’ Camp for the Blind, Inc. to provide personal growth  experiences for children, teens and adults with visual impairments through the use of recreation,  education, socialization and rehabilitation in an outdoor setting.
